Fabio Rogerio Maldonado (born March 17, 1980) is a Brazilian boxer and mixed martial artist. Fabio Maldonado trains at the training center of Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira and Antônio Rogério Nogueira in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a boxer he has a record of 22-0 with an impressive 21 knockouts.

Mixed martial arts career

Maldonado compiled an MMA record of 17-3 before being signed by the UFC. Maldonado made his UFC debut at UFC 120 against James McSweeney and won by TKO after 48 seconds of round 3.[1]

Maldonado lost to Kyle Kingsbury via unanimous decision on June 4, 2011 at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.[2] .

Maldonado was expected to face Aaron Rosa at UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson.[3] but he was forced to pull out of the bout due to an injury.[4]

Maldonado is expected to face UFC newcomer Caio Magalhães on January 14, 2012 at UFC 142.[5]
